14 Easy Christmas Tree Drawing Ideas

14 Easy Christmas Tree Drawing Ideas

As the winter comes, it is time for Christmas tree drawing season! Welcome to the festive wonderland of my blog! 🎄✨ At the blog’s start, I’ve crafted a step-by-step guide on drawing the jolliest Christmas tree for beginners, kids, or anyone with a love for doodling! Dive into a merry exploration of Christmas tree magic using various enchanting mediums like pen, pencil, and watercolor. 🌈 I hope you unwrap the perfect, whimsical tree idea that fills your heart with holiday joy! 🌟🎁

Materials Needed: Pencil, black marker, colored pencils or markers, drawing paper, and ruler (only for perfectionists) – In creating these drawings, I chose an alternative approach, utilizing a Wacom Cintiq, thus eliminating traditional scanning methods. Feel free to use any medium, color, or texture.

Artist Tip: I always start my drawing journey by sketching with a pencil to outline my creation. Once satisfied, enhance it with an ink pen for added definition. I suggest this methodology as well to get better results for your drawings.

How to Draw a Christmas Tree?

Here’s a simple 6-step guide to drawing a Christmas tree:

1. Triple Triangles 🎄

We just practice this tree. One of the most traditional-looking ways to draw a pine tree is using triangles. If you can draw a triangle, you can do any type of Christmas tree!

2. Presents 🎁

Let’s draw a very traditional Christmas tree with presents. Don’t forget to use colorful pencils and markers –
Opt for a brand such as Posca to create the effect of white snow falling on green.

3. Verticle Line

Let your pen flow. Draw some verticle lines and don’t worry about overlapping or fret about achieving perfect alignment. Just as real trees embrace imperfections, feel free to let yours exude a charming irregularity!

4. One Line 🖌️

One-line art is very popular for drawing faces, animals, or flowers. So let’s give it a try with a Christmas tree drawing. The math behind one-line art is deciding or imagining the starting and ending points. Once you try a few times, you will get used to it.

5. Modern Curvy

Embrace the abstraction! How about discovering the trees not as a triangle but as something different? What if we ventured into the realm of unconventional raindrops? Let’s give it a try.

6. Triangle

Here is a really cute and easy Christmas tree drawing. If you are looking for a simple inspiration this is your version.

7. Watercolor

This can be also considered as a one-line art. Here is a simple drawing of a watercolor Christmas tree.

8. Negative Space 🖍️

We don’t always have to color up inside of trees or use the color green. Let’s paint the town red with the Christmas tree drawing!

9. Sparkling Stars ✨

Here is a simple Christmas tree drawing with stars to draw next in your sketchbook.

10. Zigzag ⚡

Here is a very simple and easy way to draw a Christmas tree. Just zigzag form top to bottom.

11. Potato Print 🥔

How about making a tree from the potato prints of our childhood? If you do not want to use potatoes, you can give the same effect with a sponge. It’s a simple and easy DIY Christmas tree to make, especially with children.

12. Snow ❄️

Let’s draw a minimalist tree that looks like snowflakes.

13. Fluffy

This time let’s try to draw brunchs as much as we can to get fluffy effect. Don’t worry about the perfect symmetry or w shape!

14. Modern Zigzag

Let’s draw a Christmas tree similar to the previous zigzag but with smoother lines. Don’t forget to add tiny zigzags with a lighter color after drawing the main body.
